The cartoon humor in this film is wonderful for children to watch and it reminds young adults of cartoons they watched as a kid. One example of this is at the very beginning where Hercules is just a baby. Pain and Panic give him the potion that is supposed to make Hercules mortal. Pain and Panic then turn into snakes and attempt to kill Hercules. Hercules instead picks them up and ties the two snakes into a knot and bashes them against the ground. For kids, it's funny just because a baby beat up two snakes. For young adults it looks exactly like the character Bamm Bamm from the Flintstones when he would bash random objects or people against the ground.
Another example is when Hades is getting so mad at Pain and Panic that he gets to the point that he explodes. Right when he explodes the camera zooms way out so that we can now see Hercules in the foreground. In the background we see a small mushroom cloud where Hades is. We then zoom back in on Pain and Panic who are glued to the wall by the ash from the explosion, and all we can see of them is the whites of their eyes. This scene is hilarious for little kids because of the fact that someone can get so mad that they literally explode. Also, the people of Thebes are so used to disaster that there's a huge explosion in the background and no one seems to react. This is shown in the picture below. For young adults it seems like in every cartoon show or movie there is always someone getting glued to wall by ash of some explosion. The cartoon humor makes little kids laugh and brings young adults and even older adults back to their childhood when they would spend Saturday mornings sitting in front of the TV watching cartoons.
